MEASURE G CONTINUES TO SEE POSITIVE PROJECT SUCCESS MAKING FOR GREATER SCHOOLS FOR A GREATER NOVATO UNIFIED

The Measure G school bond was approved in 2016 by voters within the Novato Unified School District with the idea of creating “Great Schools for a Greater Novato.” Measure G is a  $222 million bond to make significant changes to school campuses in a variety of areas from technology to turf, art centers to air conditioners.

Last summer, Measure G was used to roll out phase 2 of chromebooks for every 4th, 6th, 9th, and 11th grader. San Marin High School and Novato High School also received a field facelift with re-turfing and track resurfacing. Damaged and clogged pipes were also replaced at Olive Elementary, San Ramon Elementary, and Novato High School. Other upgrades made in the summer of 2018 using Measure G included technology toolkits for classrooms, roof replacements, and updated HVAC systems at San Jose Middle School.

2019 will continue bringing progress to Novato Unified schools with projects like a new Center for the Arts, Center for the Sciences, and an athletic field complex at Novato High School. Similar to Novato High, San Marin High School will receive a new STEM building and Performing Arts Center. Along with a revamped Food and Nutritional Services space, Measure G will also provide new HVAC systems to Loma Verde Elementary, Olive Elementary, and Lynwood Elementary Schools.

These upgrades funded by Measure G are providing Novato students with the best facilities that house the best education! To view an entire review of Measure G and the projects provided by this funding, look at the Annual Report.
