From January 28th to 29th, the first 2023 Italian Tai Chi and Kung Fu Association Forum and Instructor Training was successfully held in Milan, co-organized by the “Chinese Tai Chi Classroom” of Longjia Education in Italy and the Italian PWKA Culture and Sports Federation.

In terms of the forum activities, PWKA’s personnel from nearly 30 sports clubs and martial arts associations from Rome, Milan, Venice and other major Italian cities and regions presented, and representatives of Henan Polytechnic University, Handan College and other universities and colleges attended the event online. Focusing on the concept, advantages and objectives of “Chinese Tai Chi Classroom”, and how to cooperate with more than 40 branches of PWKA, the guests and experts mainly discussed the integrative development of “Chinese + Tai Chi” and exchanged ideas on synchronous teaching and the construction of teaching centers.

In the subsequent training course, Wu Wubin, the 12th generation of Chen’s Taijiquan and the head coach of Zhengzhou Greentown Tai Chi School in Henan Province, gave lectures and instructions in detail on the basic skills of Chen’s Taijiquan, Chen’s Taiji single knife and Taiji pushing hands to nearly 100 coaches who attended the training course.

During the training course, 92-year-old Juliana, who was still energetic and reluctant to leave after the whole day’s participation, said, “When I was very young, I was fortunate enough to go to China to learn Tai Chi. I have been fascinated by it ever since, and I am very grateful for this opportunity and platform to get in touch with the original Tai Chi again.

Alexander is a fan of martial arts Tai Chi and has been studying since the age of 6. He owns a small martial arts school of more than 40 people in the city of Meratai, north of Milan. He said in fluent Chinese, “It was great to practice with Tai Chi master today and meanwhile my Chinese got improved. My little son is now one year old and I hope he can learn Chinese and Kung Fu in the future too. It’s wonderful!”

The first “Chinese Tai Chi Classroom” in the world was inaugurated at the end of 2022. The program aims to provide Italian people with more abundant quality Chinese language teaching and Chinese cultural resources, and to build a broad platform to promote the exchange and mutual learning of civilizations between the two countries, with Chinese as the carrier, Taiji as the feature, and cultural exchange activities as the backbone.
