Author Stella Bagot’s masterpiece tells the story of Dr. Ptolemy Reid’s journey from childhood to his demise and tries to recreate his experience as Prime Minister and during the years after his period of service.

Author Stella Bagot draws an interesting portrait of a man in her acclaimed book, A Troublesome Man now available in leading digital stores worldwide.

The book is a biography of Dr. Reid, a past Prime Minister of Guyana, South America, who rose from humble beginnings to a prominent spot in his society.

A Troublesome Man: About the Life of Dr, Ptolemy Reid, Prime Minister of Guyana (1980-1984) relates events told almost exclusively in the words of Dr. Reid himself and provides a record of Dr. Reid’s childhood and youthful years in Dartmouth, Essequibo, Guyana, an account of his educational endeavors, and the highlights of his experiences as a veterinarian, politician, and family man who maintained an enduring love relationship with his place of birth.

Bagot’s intent in making this portrayal available is to win acclaim and recognition for a son of the soil who gave his life in service to his country.

“Not only does the book give readers a serious history lesson, but it’s also spot-on. Members of the Reid family have verified many facts in the book, and it is definitely an interesting read for one and all,” one review from Amazon states.

Dr. Reid said of himself, “I am a troublesome man, always troublesome. I grew up troublesome.”

In the book, readers get to see that he was troublesome all for good, deserving to be remembered as a hero of Guyana.

Bagot herself is a native of Guyana who, like Dr. Reid, was born in the Pomeroon-Supernaam region. A retired teacher of English, she lived a major segment of her adult years under the Burnham regime in which Dr. Reid served. Bagot spent hours in dialogue with Dr. Reid in his retirement years and accompanied him at events over which he presided and/or was honored. At the end of 1990, she moved to the United States, where she now resides.

Filled with compelling facts about his life and work, A Troublesome Man is a worthwhile read for all who are interested in learning more about Dr. Ptolemy Reid.

Those interested in getting a copy of A Troublesome Man can purchase it at Amazon, Barnes and Noble, or Book Depository
