The top cybersecurity company has rolled out an updated version of the Hideez Enterprise Server, which enables passwordless access with various types of FIDO authenticators.

Leading authentication solutions provider Hideez has announced the release of the updated 3.8.6 version of its Hideez Enterprise Server, which allows passwordless access with different types of FIDO authenticators.

“The new feature would make it possible for enterprise users to log in to corporate web services and applications using both external security keys and endpoint devices with a built-in TPM and biometric sensors,” said Oleg Naumenko, CEO of Hideez Group.

Hideez Enterprise Server is a FIDO2 / Webauthn server and SAML 2.0 Identity Provider (IdP) that ensures secure IAM in an environment of numerous users, workstations, and devices.

It delivers two-factor authentication with a standard login/password input and a cross-platform/platform authenticator used as a second factor based on the FIDO U2F standard.

It offers Passwordless authentication, which allows replacing user passwords with a cross-platform/platform authenticator.

It also provides usernameless authentication when a FIDO authenticator replaces both login and password for verifying the user’s identity.

Within the Hideez IAM solution, the server allows enterprise admins to manage and keep track of both external authenticators such as Hideez Key 3 or Hideez Key 4 and platform authenticators integrated with the employees’ devices (smartphones, tablets, laptops, etc.). The server is approved as Citrix® Ready™ and integrates with Citrix Gateway™ products and SAP solutions.

According to Mr. Naumenko, the company’s IAM Solution is compatible with popular existing enterprise infrastructure solutions, being a perfect supplement for existing MFA, SSO, Enterprise Mobility Management, Cloud Solutions, IAM, or PAM.

The company provides an easy-to-use and cost-effective IAM solution that can help organizations protect the sensitive data of their employees and comply with modern security standards.

“Hideez Server can now be used to manage both external cross-platform authenticators and platform authenticators, whether it be macOS, iOS, Android, Windows, or Linux devices. Employees can use either an encrypted PIN-protected Hideez Key or biometrics to securely verify their identity, “Mr. Naumenko said.

FIDO2 / WebAuthn is a new open authentication standard supported by browsers and many large tech companies such as Microsoft, Google, etc. The FIDO2 authentication process eliminates the traditional threats associated with using a login username and password, replacing it with the passwordless login experience. The technology is based on public/private cryptography, allowing users to validate their identity without sharing a secret between the user & platform. The supported web browsers include but are not limited to Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, and Safari.

“Our server features the latest FIDO2 authentication standard and delivers secure, cryptography-based authentication to enable a future without passwords and related security risks,” Mr. Naumenko noted.
