Equity Crowdfunding Campaign For Airgility, Makers Of AI-Powered Drones, Ends Soon

COLLEGE PARK, MD – October 12, 2020 – Airgility, a tech startup creating AI-powered, unmanned aerial robots, has conducted a successful equity crowdfunding campaign on the StartEngine platform, raising more than $740,000, from more than 1,300 investors. That campaign ends soon, on Monday, October 19.

Airgility has created drones that can fly anywhere, even in confined areas or where GPS access is limited or nonexistent. Produced with the goal of making a significant social impact, Airgility’s aerial robots are designed to conduct important missions including search and rescue, border protection, and the delivery of medical supplies to remote areas.

“We are a team that is passionate about solving problems and motivated to make an impact,” says Pramod Raheja, CEO and co-founder of Airgility. “We are driven by the knowledge that unmanned robots have the capability to save lives.”

Many robot manufacturers underutilize artificial intelligence and rely on cloud connectivity – usually in short supply in disaster situations – to remotely operate the vehicle. Airgility, however, is creating drone platforms that do not rely on human control or GPS information. Powered by their proprietary operating system, Airgility’s aerial robots can operate independently in complex environments, leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning to determine what they should do, when they should do it, and how they should complete the task. Airgility’s drones provide information in real-time, improving decision-making in the critical moments of a disaster.

In addition to abundant attention from the press, Airgility has attracted the interest of high-profile federal agencies and foundations. Selected as part of the prestigious “Smart Cities Program” of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Airgility has conducted five successful DHS field deployments focused on search and rescue, and the company has received preorders from the DHS. In addition, Airgility was awarded a National Science Foundation (NSF) grant and has graduated from the NSF i-corps program.

With plans to sell their patent-protected, made-in-the-USA drones into governmental and commercial sectors, Airgility intends to capitalize on what Goldman Sachs predicted to be a $100B market, one that has taken off since 2016, when the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) implemented new regulations for unmanned aircrafts.
