Ecommerce Start-up Twenty5Degrees Seeks to Restore the Caribbean

Miami, Florida – July 3, 2020 – It is a well-known fact that the oceans are in trouble. It seems like everyday there is a new story about how plastics, climate change and runoff are pushing marine ecosystems to their breaking point. At the same time, many industries continue to carry out business as usual only making the problem worse.

In response to public backlash, many companies have started to take a hard look at their own impact of the environment. Twenty5Degrees is going above and beyond to tackle this complex problem by donating 10% of gross sales to marine focused non-profit organizations. This donation is amongst the highest in the industry.

Twenty5Degrees has identified three impact areas fighting plastics, coral restoration and mangrove reforestation. To tackle each of these three problem areas, Twenty5Degrees has partnered with a non-profit in each area. By doing so, Twenty5Degrees can fund environmental restoration projects in Haiti, the Florida Keys and Miami.

Currently, Twenty5Degrees has four products, all outdoor hats. The company intends to develop a full line of products by the end of the calendar year. If successful, Twenty5Degrees has the potential to make a significant impact on the Caribbean helping preserve it for generations to come.

Founded in 2019, Twenty5Degrees was founded by Nicolas Quintairos. Quintairos graduated from The Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences with a Masters in Marine Ecosystems and Society.  His passion for the ocean put him on a path to a career in Marine Conservation. Quintairos is currently pursuing his MBA from Oklahoma State University where he hopes to develop the skills necessary to take Twenty5Degrees from start-up to success. He hopes to see Twenty5Degrees provide products for number retailers across the US while creating more awareness and action for global ocean conservation.
