After a life-changing battle with Stage IV metastatic breast cancer, in December 2017, Bonita stepped out on faith and got radical about her journey towards being a change-agent in the cancer community. She founded her nonprofit, the Hope for Pink Foundation, an organization that educates and advocates for the fight against breast cancer and provides direct support services to women and men currently battling, living with, or in support of someone in active cancer treatment. Her mission is to ensure that all warriors have the support, education, and resources they need to come out victoriously on the other side of cancer.
In 2019, Bonita founded Beaute` by Bonita Cosmetics™ – an exclusive vegan cosmetics and skincare product line that is comprised of all-natural and organic ingredients made with the health of women in mind. After receiving her breast cancer diagnosis, Bonita was forced into taking a closer look at the products she was using and discovered that what she was applying to her skin daily contained many toxins and chemicals associated with producing the hormones responsible for the development of breast cancer. Her mission with Beaute` was to develop products that women would feel safe using and applying to their skin without the worry of disease and harm to their body. She wholeheartedly believes that every woman should feel confident and look beautiful while putting the needs of her health first.
